Hi Mattia,

This scan was made some time ago and because it isn't very good, I had put it in a drawer. But now with Sven's new FLASH shader look, I thought it would be a possibility to bring it out again. What I will say is, I don't remember well all the used settings.

The cam resolution was 640x480 pixels at 30fps. And I think the clock rate was switched to position 5 at my controller. I have just repeated such a laser sweep and it is about 50 sec.

I think the number of scans was 5.

ok, this isn't a "face", but a muzzle.
Is a fusion of 4 quick scans, just to avail the opportunity during the sleeping time of my cat, Gastone.
The little flat area on the head isn't a scan error but the shaved fur: Gastone is an active cat and every time fight with the other cats of the neighbours (damn!). So sometimes he came back with scars.

I made the scans with the SPC900NC running at 60 FPS and the rig swept my face in 35 seconds, Also the intersection angle started at something like 29 degrees and dropped off which is not an ideal angle for planeless scanning. I did not use any smoothing the result here is straight from shapefusion. Maybe with a little more patience I could have eliminated all waves but it was hard to sit still very long . I scanned at a resolution of 640 X 480 7 scans but I was on a computer without a full version of David and saved at the lower resolution and then fused those on a different computer to this.

Again just a quick test using some cheap hardware.

Maybe I'm missing something but why 35sec ? If you scan at 60fps and 480p it could be much less, no ?

Hi Ben,

Yes, If I was using a calibration corner this could have been faster but I've found when doing planeless scans the slower the reference the better the quality of the repetition.
