Yes.. When i saw Euro been targeted with laser, I thought i should scan my country currencies too... This is 5-Rupees Pakistani almost equal to diameter of 1Euro coin (but 1 Euro= 122 Rupees ).... I made 15mm calibration panel..My laser was 8 pixel and i afraid it would not possible to get the details out of it.. However i get so far the details you can see in picture...

My Laser is converted from Laser Pointer..I added the lens of 5mW deal extreme Red laser to my green laser pointer... Can some one tell me is it possible to make my this green line laser focusable!!!!!

and the render form... The coin was filled with Talcum Powder .. I think the results can be much improved by tweaking the controls.. Thanks Sven and Simon for such a great software...

Hi,
A hint: You should put the coin much closer to the calibration corner walls.
And you can focus the line by means of a cylindrical lens. But this kind of lens is not so common.

Can you show me the picture of that lens, may be i can get it from somewhere I think i remove one of cylindrical lens from the red dealextreme laser... I think one cylindrical lens is also inside my green laser pointer... can i place two cylindrical lens in green laser??

Cylindrical lenses are rather expensive:

Therefore you should try to improve the line width by the lens of a reading specs. I mean this „half“ specs where you can look over the glasses in the distance. Here in Germany we can buy such glasses for a few euros in a supermarket.
I have just made a short test with my worse focussed red line laser and put a reading specs in front of it. The value of the lens was +2 dioptre. The beam became much thinner. But the line was also a bit curved. If you specially like to scan a small coin, it may be OK and you should give it a try.
Perhaps you can ask an optician to help you finding the best lens.

Walter... Great solution.. You save my day.. I will search for +2 or higher dioptre lens.. Can you show me what was the size of that lens.. I will ask the seller to trim me the lens of smaller size so that i can insert it into my Laser Line Pen...

I hope tomorrow i will make another scan and i hope by acting upon your advice it will be my gr8 scan

Hi Khalid

You can try chemical labrotary cylinderical part (same droper with less inside diameter) which used for transporting liquids (E.X less than 1 CC).

You need about 3 mm diameter cylinder to have more lenght and thinner laser.

These part are cheap and avalaible any where( I think).

Hi Khalid,
Don't expect a miracle in focussing.
I had only, in a very short test, put spectacles just in front of my deliberately unfocussed laser.
And the line became much thinner. But I couldn't adjust the focus with the spectacles by changing its distance to the laser.
And I had not changed the size of the glasses.
Best is when you try the focussing with different lenses. (+2 dioptre and higher).
