Camera is not recognised

Postby MarcelB » Thu Nov 22, 2012 3:15 pm

Hi
I got a new laptop, win 7 64 bits
i have purchased the david sofware a few month ago and it worked fine whith an old laptop.

framework ist installed, david sofware is starting but the logitech camera is not recognised.

The driver is installed, in the hardware configuration i recognise the logitech webacam and can select it.

but when i try to calibrate, nothing happens,
when i start 3d scanning then the message appears that no image can be acquired?
then in the pop up it says maybe the camera is not installed ( but it is)
or that an external trigger is selected but inaktiv??... what can that be?

is it a 64 bits problem?
Why does david not acquire images from the logitech webcam?
i hope you have a clue

Regards
MarcelB

Hi MarcelB,
I can only guess why your camera does not work.
Does it work with other applications, like e.g. Skype?
Make sure only ONE program accesses the camera at a time.
You can try to disconnect and re-connect the camera, and/or re-install the latest drivers from Logitech.

Apart from that, the 3D view in DAVID does work?

Hi Sven
thanks for your post.
Skype also doesnt recognize the logitech webcam.

I have deinstalled the driver and reinstalled the driver, from the david usb stick.

In the david window in the hardware configuration , i can select the logitech webcam and the webcam is blinking,
so it seems recognized.

you say that only one programm should access at a time logitech.
How do i see that only one programm accesses the logitech?
I have totaly closed skype. but have no idea if another programm accesses the logitech webcam?

i tried to deactivate the webcam from the laptop in the device manager, but it didnt help.

You are asking if the 3d view of david is working?
I do not realy know what you mean by that, in the window of kamerakalibration, for example i can see a camera and the calibration pannels, and for example in shape fusion i can load previously scans and they are displayed correctly.

do you have a clue?

I am also experementing whith reconstructme and i have installed the asus driver.
Reconstructme is working fine whith this new laptop, maybe there is a conflict there?

David is working fine whith the old laptop and gives very nice result, but not whith this new laptop????

Greetings
MarcelB

Hi Marcel,

Instead of the Please try the latest drivers from Logitech. The ones on the DAVID USB key are older. They work better with DAVID 2, but with DAVID 3 the new ones are fine too.

How do i see that only one programm accesses the logitech?
I have totaly closed skype. but have no idea if another programm accesses the logitech webcam?

Usually you will know. E.g. Skype (but you have closed it) or some other program that shows the live image on screen.

You are asking if the 3d view of david is working?
I do not realy know what you mean by that, in the window of kamerakalibration, for example i can see a camera and the calibration pannels, and for example in shape fusion i can load previously scans and they are displayed correctly.

OK then 3D does work.
As long as the camera does not work in Skype, no need to search for the problem in DAVID.

So please try the latest drivers from Logitech.
